The prevalence of anemia in chronic kidney disease (CKD) has been shown to increase along with the severity of disease. Anemia can cause substantial burden to patients as it can exacerbate comorbidities, increase disease progression, and decrease quality of life. This 4-part resource center will examine current challenges in the treatment of anemia in CKD and the need for alternative treatment strategies, such as emerging hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) inhibitors. Each module will focus on pharmacist interventions to manage medications for patients with anemia in CKD to reduce health care disparities and include key counseling information for patients initiating treatment or transitioning to HIF-PH inhibitors. Participants who complete all components of this resource center will be awarded a certificate of completion demonstrating their dedication to improving the continuity of care for patients with anemia in CKD.
