Optimizing Diabetes Management Through the Adoption of Integrated Continuous Glucose Monitoring

About This Curriculum

These CE modules can be completed as the full curriculum or as individual activities. Please note that to obtain the certificate of completion for this curriculum, all 4 modules must be completed.

In the United States, 37.3 million adults are living with diabetes and an estimated 1 in 5 individuals are not aware that they have it. Advances in technology associated with the management of diabetes includes the adoption of integrated continuous glucose monitoring (iCGM) devices, with its use expanding across different populations over the years. In the community, ambulatory, health-system, and other settings, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians play an instrumental role in identifying potential candidates and assisting persons with diabetes that currently use iCGM devices. The use of CGM devices expanded during the COVID-19 pandemic, which allows persons with diabetes to safely continue monitoring their glucose levels and grants them the ability to remotely share their data. Included in this resource center are 3 webinars, a panel discussion, and article with patient case simulations. Additionally, counseling and device demonstration videos will highlight important educational pearls for the implementation of iCGM in persons with diabetes. Individuals that complete all 5 activities will receive a certificate of completion that demonstrates their dedication to optimizing use of iCGM devices in the management of persons with diabetes.
