Program Description
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Coronary artery disease (CAD), peripheral artery disease (PAD), and cerebrovascular disease are 3 major types of cardiovascular disease and can lead to ischemic events such as myocardial infarction and stroke. Together, these ischemic events present substantial societal health and economic burdens. This activity will provide pharmacists with an overview of atherosclerotic disease, including risk factors and challenges in secondary prevention. Faculty will introduce a patient case, which will be further examined in the subsequent webinar.

  • Recognize the etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical criteria for diagnosis of CAD/PAD
