Obesity Care in Practice: Advancing Evidence-Based, Person-Centered Care
About This Program
Obesity is a complex, chronic, relapsing disease driven by biological, genetic, environmental, and social factors — yet it remains widely under-recognized and undertreated. More than 100 million US adults are living with obesity, which drives type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, obstructive sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, and other co-occurring conditions. As some of the most accessible members of the health care team, pharmacists are uniquely positioned to support assessment, pharmacotherapy optimization, and person-centered counseling in obesity care.
The Educated Pharmacist Learning Center is your dedicated, central hub for the Obesity Care in Practice initiative. This curriculum offers resources to support you in applying current evidence for incretin-based treatment strategies and compassionate, nonstigmatizing communication to patient encounters for obesity care. Discover the latest evidence-based recommendations for assessing, treating, and supporting people living with obesity, all in one convenient location.
This activity is supported by an educational grant from Lilly.
