Program Description
The treatment of non−small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) involves the use of molecular testing, which allows for patient-specific therapy. Specifically, molecular testing identifies either predictive biomarkers or prognostic markers, which can be used to determine optimal treatments for each patient, and potentially overall outcomes. Pharmacists are heavily involved in the care of patients with NSCLC, and require an understanding of biomarker testing in order to assist with treatment decisions. This activity will focus on an overall review of molecular testing in NSCLC, specific targeted therapies, and the role of the pharmacist in caring for patients receiving these targeted therapies.
Target audience: Oncology pharmacists
