This activity is part 2 of a 3-part webinar curriculum and includes a Powered by Patients™ video interview.

Program Description

Treatment goals for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) include relieving underlying chronic lung inflammation and symptoms contributing to disease exacerbations. The current standard of care for pharmacotherapies in COPD management includes inhaled bronchodilators and corticosteroids, as necessary, or orally administered medications. Building upon interest in type 2 inflammatory disease pathophysiology, several biologic drugs are also under investigation for the treatment of COPD. This second webinar in the COPD curriculum will review the most recent updates from the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease guidelines for current standards of care as well as the potential role of emerging biologics in COPD management. Efficacy and safety data for emerging biologics for COPD management from recent clinical trials will be presented. Participants will gain perspectives on the challenges in current treatment protocols and how they may affect patient outcomes.
