Program Description
Serum B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) has been identified as a biomarker with a prognostic value used to predict outcomes for patients with multiple myeloma (MM) and has emerged as a therapeutic target in MM, with 3 modalities for targeting BCMA currently FDA approved. However, these agents require development of specific workflows to reduce the risk of errors associated with their complex preparation and administration. Oncology pharmacists are central to identifying and addressing barriers to access and adherence as well as monitoring for adverse effects and providing options for management. Panelists will discuss approaches for oncology pharmacists to mitigate challenges associated with recently approved and investigational BCMA-directed agents. The program will also include an interactive patient case review allowing audience participants to vote on a recommended treatment plan, with panelists sharing their expert perspectives on treatment and management.
