Generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) is a chronic, immune-mediated disorder of the neuromuscular junction that causes fluctuating muscle weakness and fatigue across ocular, bulbar, limb, and respiratory muscle groups, often limiting patients’ daily functioning and quality of life. Variability in antibody profiles and disease severity adds specific challenges to gMG management. Even with foundational therapies, many patients continue to experience incomplete symptom control or unpredictable exacerbations. A deeper understanding of the immunologic drivers of gMG has since contributed to the development of targeted biologics, including FcRn blockers and complement inhibitors, that interrupt key disease pathways. As these potentially more individualized treatment strategies reshape the standard of care, specialty pharmacists will be increasingly involved in decisions to guide therapy selection, anticipate safety concerns, and support the monitoring and counseling patients need throughout treatment. This webinar provides specialty pharmacists with a comprehensive overview of gMG pathophysiology and standards of care. The mechanisms and clinical data behind the evolving treatment landscape will be presented, with key insights to help pharmacists translate this knowledge into practical guidance that supports multidisciplinary collaboration and treatment monitoring for patients with gMG.
