Program Description

Though targeted therapies have contributed to more personalized treatment decisions for patients with breast cancer, resistance to endocrine therapy and adverse effects (AEs) remain challenges. AEs pose a major challenge in breast cancer treatment adherence, with surveys showing that a majority of patients experience AEs, leading to early discontinuation in one-third of cases. This session will explore the emergence of oral selective estrogen receptor degraders (SERDs) and targeted therapies in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive (HR+)/HER2-negative breast cancer, with the latest insights into optimizing treatment for patients. Interactive patient case reviews will provide practical strategies for patient identification, sequencing therapies, managing AEs, and integrating oral regimens into clinical practice. The clinical evidence behind frontline triplet regimens, individualized treatment selection, and the emerging role of oral SERDs and integrating these emerging therapies into breast cancer care practices will be reviewed.
