Program Description

The use of direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) agents is guided by recommendations based on new and evolving evidence derived from emerging trial data. However, the management of DOACs must still be tailored to patient needs based on goals of anticoagulation therapy and individualized thrombotic risk and risk for bleeding. This webinar will examine the indications and dosing of each available DOAC as well as considerations for their use in special situations. Additionally, patient counseling video vignettes will highlight the role of the pharmacist in counseling a patient taking a DOAC on important dosing and safety considerations.
