Program Description
Patients with seasonal allergies often experience long-lasting allergic rhinitis, a collection of symptoms causing nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, and itchy, watery eyes. Many patients seek to self-treat these symptoms with over-the-counter agents. As pharmacy technicians are in optimal positions to help patients navigate product selection, they must be familiar with different classes such as decongestants, antihistamines, and corticosteroids. This activity will also review considerations for use of allergy relief products in special patient populations so pharmacy technicians can assist the pharmacist in delivering high-quality care for patients with allergic rhinitis.
