Program Description

Pharmacists can contribute to early identification of migraines and refer patients to see a physician for treatment. Pharmacists need education on novel targeted therapies to be better equipped to provide informed counseling and education to their patients. This individualized care can improve adherence and encourage patients to try other agents if 1 does not provide symptom relief. Pharmacists have a role in multiple steps of the migraine treatment process, from identification to treatment. The final webinar of the curriculum will emphasize the importance of patient education and counseling on antimigraine therapies to help improve the quality of care and patient outcomes, with a Powered by Patients® interview included.
