Program Description
Excessive sun exposure can lead to sunburn, photosensitivity, and skin cancer among other dermatologic issues. As some medications can also increase photosensitivity, patients must be informed about measures they can take to protect their skin. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can help patients identify appropriate sun protection products based on individual characteristics and preferences. This webinar will look at sunscreen ingredients that provide the most benefit for patients seeking greater sun care protection. Additionally, counseling points regarding sunscreen application and daily routines to improve skin care, especially for patients with risk factors for photosensitivity and/or skin cancer, will be discussed.
