The Latest Updates and Pharmacist Perspectives on RET Inhibitors in Non‒Small Cell Lung Cancer

Program Description

Management strategies for patients with non‒small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have significantly evolved in the past decade, with the growing list of biomarkers for precise histological diagnosis and molecular testing to guide treatment decisions. More than half of patients with NSCLC have actionable mutations, and many targeted therapies for these mutations have shown improvement in mortalities and safety profiles compared to systemic chemotherapy. Oncology pharmacists should be familiar with appropriate molecular testing for patients diagnosed with NSCLC. This podcast will focus on approved and emerging targeted therapies for patients with RET gene fusion-positive NSCLC, including toxicity monitoring as well as management of RET inhibitors with regard to dose reductions and discontinuations.
