Program Description
Liver cancer is associated with a high mortality rate and is the fastest rising cause of cancer death in the United States. Many patients have advanced disease at the time of diagnosis and, until recently, treatment options have been limited. Current guideline recommendations for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) include tyrosine kinase inhibitors and immune checkpoint inhibitors, which are associated with potential serious adverse effects and cost burden. Pharmacists and managed care professionals are able to assist patients in management of medication adverse effects and can also develop strategies to assist in management of treatment-related costs.

- Construct strategies to improve quality of care and limit financial toxicity for patients with advanced HCC through collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
