Program Description
Management of migraines involves prophylaxis, acute treatment, or sometimes both. Novel antimigraine agents act directly on calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), which can help relieve patients’ symptoms. Pharmacists should understand the difference in indications and dosing regimens to identify patients who could benefit from new targeted treatment options. This second webinar of the curriculum will explore the safety and efficacy data of CGRP-targeted therapies to provide pharmacists with the education they need to make appropriate recommendations to prescribers and counsel patients accordingly. A patient interview highlighting the journey they have been on and experiences with various treatment options will also be incorporated.
