Program Description:
IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common primary glomerular disease worldwide and a leading contributor to progressive loss of kidney function, with an estimated 25% to 30% of patients developing kidney failure within 20 to 25 years. Because IgAN often occurs in early adulthood, its burden of dialysis, kidney transplantation, diminished quality of life, and substantial health care costs can accumulate over decades. The IgAN treatment landscape has shifted with updates to the 2025 Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes guidelines, which call for more stringent proteinuria targets, and a growing roster of approved and late-stage investigational agents that address the underlying disease process rather than supportive care alone. For managed care pharmacists, Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee members, and other formulary decision makers, keeping pace with this evidence is essential to build coverage policies and utilization management strategies that support timely, appropriate access to therapy. This webinar connects IgAN pathophysiology and clinical evidence to real-world formulary and coverage decisions. Expert faculty will translate the latest guideline recommendations and clinical trial data into practical utilization management considerations while exploring managed care frameworks for formulary evaluation and patient access.
