This activity was originally broadcast live as a satellite symposium held in conjunction with HOPA 2022.

Program Description

Bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) offer patients with hematologic and solid tumors the benefit of reactivating T cells to trigger an immune response and potentially induce remission. Use of T-cell−engaging BsAbs in treatment of cancer can minimize potential for adverse effects compared with other immunotherapies. With one BsAb currently approved for treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia and more in the pipeline for multiple cancers, pharmacists should be knowledgeable about the potential impact of these agents in the oncology landscape. This program will introduce pharmacists to data currently available for the approved BsAb and detail mechanism of action and considerations for treatment selection and sequencing of emerging BsAbs. Clinical data including efficacy and safety considerations based on therapy indication will be examined. Practical strategies to overcome complexities of care and challenges with administration of and access to BsAb therapy as these agents enter the treatment paradigm of patients with cancer will also be discussed.
