Program Description

Rosacea is an inflammatory dermatological condition that most commonly involves the face. Symptoms of rosacea can range from pain to stinging, burning, itching, and facial flushing. The main goals of skin care regimens for patients with rosacea are utilization of cleansers, moisturizers, and sun protectants with limited irritation to the skin to avoid exacerbations. Equipped with knowledge of ceramides for treatment of skin conditions, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to identify skin care products recommended to restore the skin barrier and incorporate them into patients’ skin care regimens according to clinical guidelines and recommendations.
