Revolutionizing Multiple Myeloma Care: CAR T-Cell Therapy, Bispecific Antibodies, and Patient-Centered Strategies

January 11, 2024 | 7:00 PM ET

A satellite symposium in conjunction with Oncology Pharmacists Connect: Winter 2024.

Program Description

In recent years, B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) has become an attractive target in the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM). This program will focus on the applicability of approved and emerging BCMA-directed treatment, including both chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy and bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) for patients with relapsed or refractory (RR) MM. Each modality has unique considerations associated with their use, which will be highlighted in featured patient cases. Given the broad choice of therapeutic strategies for RRMM, treatment selection is guided by a number of different factors, which necessitates that oncology pharmacists are prepared to develop individualized care plans for patients. Faculty experts will review real-world evidence for the use of CAR T cells and BsAbs in RRMM as well as ongoing investigations into their therapeutic sequencing, safety, and utility in combination with other agents.

Educational Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Analyze the appropriateness of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy and novel bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma, considering patient- and disease-specific factors
  • Assess the applicability of novel CAR T cells and BsAb treatment strategies in clinical practice
  • Construct patient-centered care plans that incorporate tailored strategies for preventing, monitoring, and managing therapy-related toxicities of CAR T cells and BsAbs

This activity is supported by an educational grant from Legend Biotech USA Inc.
