Advancements in oncology continue to accelerate, requiring oncology pharmacists to remain current with rapidly evolving clinical evidence, novel therapeutic modalities, and increasingly complex treatment regimens. Pharmacists play a critical role across the oncology care continuum, contributing to therapy selection, implementation of biomarker-driven treatment strategies, mitigation and management of treatment-related toxicities, and education for patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary care teams. As novel agents are introduced into practice, pharmacists are also central to developing supportive care protocols, optimizing safety monitoring, and integrating new therapies into existing clinical and operational workflows.
PTCE is offering multiple satellite symposia in conjunction with the HOPA Annual Conference to provide live, practical education for oncology pharmacists practicing in inpatient, ambulatory, infusion, and specialty pharmacy settings. These sessions will address emerging evidence and best practices related to antibody–drug conjugates, bispecific antibodies, immune-based combination regimens, and next-generation targeted therapies across solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, including breast cancer, gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndromes. Programming will emphasize real-world implementation considerations such as toxicity grading and management, administration and monitoring workflows, sequencing of therapies, and pharmacist-led operational integration, supported by patient case discussions and expert faculty perspectives.
