Program Description

Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic malignancy in the United States. Primary prevention, early detection, and treatment have a large impact on patient outcomes. Unfortunately, disparities including biologic/genetic, behavioral, and social determinants affect patient access to care.  This activity will highlight the role of managed care professionals in caring for patients with endometrial cancer, specifically focusing on potential disparities in care. Additionally, the use of biomarkers to guide therapy selection will also be reviewed, with an emphasis on guideline-recommended treatment strategies.

Educational Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Explore the prognosis of metastatic endometrial cancer and the significance of biomarkers in determining appropriate therapy.
• Investigate health equity issues affecting patients with endometrial cancer and the potential impact of disparities on clinical outcomes.
• Interpret evidence-based guidelines and clinical trial data in the use of targeted therapies for the treatment of endometrial cancer.
• Identify best practices for implementing evidence-based treatment to maximize cost-effectiveness of immunotherapies and mitigate the disparities in health equity for patients with endometrial cancer.
