Program Description
Upper respiratory infections are prominent during winter months, but patients may seek symptomatic relief for these conditions throughout the year. Pharmacy technicians should recognize the overlapping and specific symptoms of common upper respiratory infections, such as colds, influenza, and COVID-19. Within the pharmacy, they have an important role in guiding patients to product selections and helping them identify important product information. This activity will also present questions pharmacy technicians can use to gather information from the patient about symptom onset, duration, and medication history to forward to the pharmacist.

• Review the role of the pharmacy technician in promoting the safe use of medications used for cold, influenza, and COVID-19
