Program Description
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a lymphoproliferative disorder manifested by a progressive accumulation of leukemic cells in the peripheral blood, bone marrow, and lymphoid tissues. CLL treatment is patient specific and is based on prognostic factors, age, and genetic mutations; treatment approaches have now shifted from conventional chemotherapy to oral targeted therapies. This activity will review clinical data supporting guideline-recommended treatment options for CLL and emphasize the role of the pharmacist in caring for patients.
