Program Description

Non−small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is not only one of the most commonly diagnosed malignancies, but also presents with a variety of driver mutations, including epidermal growth factor receptor, ALK, ROS1, and KRAS, among others, for which specific therapy should be targeted. The ROS1 and KRAS mutations have been associated with limited response to existing targeted therapies, with patients eventually developing resistance, necessitating research into more potent and mutation-specific treatment options. This webinar will review updated clinical data for approved and investigational targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapies specific to patients with ROS1-rearranged and KRAS-mutant NSCLC, respectively, as well as resulting updates in clinical practice guidelines. Patient case reviews incorporated within the activity will present opportunities for oncology pharmacists to identify candidates for treatment with these novel therapies and share key counseling points regarding dosing, administration, and adherence. Strategies for pharmacists to identify potential drug-drug interactions and mitigate toxicities associated with targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapies in ROS1-rearranged and KRAS-mutant NSCLC will also be examined.
