Program Description
The management of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has significantly evolved over the last decade with advancements in precise histological diagnosis and molecular testing to guide treatment decisions. An increasing number of biomarkers have been linked to FDA-approved therapies that have resulted in rapid updates to treatment guidelines. Emerging molecular targets, more therapies to target these mutations, and updated strategies for optimizing treatment sequencing are being incorporated into the therapeutic armamentarium of NSCLC. Oncology pharmacists lead interventions to support treatment adherence, mitigate adverse effects of therapy, and promote safe administration of medications. This program will focus specifically on preferred agents and supportive clinical data for RET and MET inhibitors, biomarker testing strategies, and guideline recommendations for the targeted treatment of NSCLC. Best practices for oncology pharmacists to address complexities of care associated with oral oncolytic therapy and management of adverse effects of RET and MET inhibitors will also be discussed.

- Identify the patient population with NSCLC that would most likely benefit from treatment with RET or MET inhibitors
- Develop a pharmacist-led strategy to ensure safe and efficient use of RET and MET inhibitors for patients with NSCLC
