Program Description
Hyperlipidemia may occur due to genetic or acquired disorders that increase lipid and low-density Guidelines for hyperlipidemia have established treatment recommendations and thresholds for low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Despite available treatments, many patients do not achieve guideline-recommended LDL-C levels, resulting in residual cardiovascular risk. Within the care team, pharmacists can educate patients about the importance of adherence to guideline recommendations for LDL-C lowering and help to identify patients who may be candidates for the addition of non-statin therapies.
