Program Description

The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in cancer care has impacted treatment guidelines for many malignancies, including renal cell carcinoma and melanoma. ICIs currently have approval as monotherapy and also in combination with targeted therapies, allowing for improved patient outcomes. Both ICIs and targeted therapies are associated with unique adverse effect profiles, and pharmacists are positioned to assist proactively in patients receiving these therapies. This activity will explain the role of ICIs and targeted therapy combinations across tumor types and will emphasize pearls for health-system pharmacists to optimally provide patient care.
