Overview

The complexity of new regimens and the need for coordination of care across practice and pharmacy settings have reinforced and expanded the roles of pharmacists. This virtual CE conference is designed for oncology pharmacists to obtain knowledge necessary to identify and develop solutions for responding clinically and operationally to rapidly evolving evidence reported at the ASH and SABCS annual meetings.

The program agenda facilitates discussion of recently presented data, identification of resources needed to successfully implement new therapies and make formulary decisions, examination of challenges, and brainstorming solutions to meet organizational demands while improving patient outcomes. The core meeting will be composed of accredited sessions, with the primary format delivered as panel discussions to enable debate, discussion, and collaborative peer exchange.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this application-based educational conference, pharmacists will be able to:

  • Analyze recent clinical updates on novel and emerging pharmacotherapeutic approaches for hematologic malignancies and breast cancers presented at annual medical meetings
  • Discuss the impact of recent evidence to multiple disease treatment paradigms and challenges to implementation of evolving therapies
  • Apply operational and managed care considerations for the evaluation and integration of changes through formulary decisions, pathways, and resource allocation

Hot Topics for 2024

Hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, and triple-negative breast cancers; acute and chronic leukemias; aggressive and indolent lymphomas; multiple myeloma; myelodysplastic syndromes; and myeloproliferative diseases
