Program Description
In the past 2 decades, use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices has advanced rapidly. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has endorsed the use of CGM devices in its guidelines, with recommendations for scanning and monitoring data based on individual patient needs and availability of device. As CGM technology is increasingly integrated into diabetes care and management, pharmacists should be aware of recommendations for use of CGM and the capabilities of each available CGM device to determine the most appropriate for each patient. This activity will review the utility of CGM devices in diabetes care, compare available CGM devices, and introduce data, such as time in range, which are reported in the ambulatory glucose profile.
