Program Description
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is the seventh leading site of new cancer cases in the United States, with follicular lymphoma (FL) being approximately 17% of these cases and 4% being mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). There has been an improvement in overall survival for both of these NHL subtypes with the advent of novel treatments and stem cell transplantation. With these newer therapies, managed care and specialty pharmacists play a key role in educating patients and the medical team, assisting in managing adverse effects, and also ensuring medication adherence. This activity will focus on strategies for pharmacists to improve outcomes for patients with FL or MCL, with an emphasis on oral therapies and adherence strategies.
