Continuous advancements in the prevention of many diseases require community pharmacists to have the most up-to-date information on vaccine recommendations. The satellite symposia presented during the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) 2024 Annual Convention will emphasize strategies for pharmacists to improve public health outcomes through the appropriate use of vaccinations.
The evolution of patient care has expanded the role of community pharmacists and independent pharmacy owners in facilitating patient access to medications and health care services. For years, the NCPA has represented the interests of community pharmacy teams and independent pharmacy owners by providing resources that discuss the most pressing issues in health care and community pharmacy practice. The satellite symposia presented during the NCPA 2024 Annual Convention will focus on opportunities to ensure availability, administration, and access to immunizations to reduce barriers to vaccine uptake within local communities. These programs will provide updates on the latest evidence and recommendations for vaccine use. They will review solutions to address gaps and challenges to patient care, combat vaccine hesitancy, and ensure proper access to pneumococcal and annual influenza vaccines within local communities.
