Program Description
Myelofibrosis, a rare and chronic bone marrow disorder, poses significant treatment challenges due to its complex pathology and the risk of disease progression. JAK inhibitors have emerged as a critical component in the frontline and subsequent treatment strategies for myelofibrosis, offering patients substantial relief from symptoms and potential improved survival. However, the optimization of JAK inhibitor therapy requires oncology pharmacists to carefully consider recent guideline updates, clinical indicators of disease progression, and evidence-based strategies for managing transitions between different JAK inhibitors as clinically indicated. This program is designed to equip oncology pharmacists with the essential knowledge and skills to navigate these complexities. By focusing on the latest guidelines, clinical indicators, and supportive care measures, including infection prevention and anemia management, this program will equip oncology pharmacists to ensure the safe and effective utilization of JAK inhibitors, ultimately improving patient outcomes in myelofibrosis treatment.
