Program Description
The expanding indications and emerging data for biologic therapies present new opportunities and challenges in the treatment of pediatric patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (AD). As additional evidence supporting the use of biologic therapy in the treatment of pediatric AD becomes available, it will be imperative that pharmacists are educated on the use of these agents. Expert panelists will discuss the multifaceted roles of pharmacists in addressing quality of life considerations and treatment challenges affecting the management of therapies for pediatric patients with moderate to severe AD. The discussion by the multidisciplinary panel will also center on caregiver education strategies, including treatment expectations and importance of adherence to biologic therapy in improving clinical outcomes and quality of life. Included patient case examples demonstrate best practices for making clinical recommendations on the use of biologic therapies and in providing patient and caregiver communication for comprehensive management of pediatric patients with moderate to severe AD.
