Program Description
The selection of drugs and recommended treatment protocols for each stage of multiple myeloma (MM) varies depending on factors such as patient age, overall health status, disease characteristics, and eligibility for high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation. Despite the wide range of available drugs for MM, the most effective selection and sequencing strategy remains unclear. The introduction of quadruplet therapy regimens marks a significant advancement in the treatment of patients with newly diagnosed MM. As this new strategy evolves as a frontline treatment option in MM, maintaining familiarity with clinical guideline recommendations may be challenging for oncology pharmacists when identifying patients who are most likely to benefit from these regimens. This multidisciplinary panel discussion will cover the emergence of quadruple therapy regimens for patients with newly diagnosed MM as well as education about supportive care and prophylactic measures to mitigate treatment-related adverse effects. Informed by social media analytic tools and insights about discussion points from patients, caregivers, and health care professionals regarding treatment of MM gathered through artificial intelligence technology, the interactive format of this program features opportunities for panelists to debate and discuss the challenges and trends in management of newly diagnosed MM. Participants will be able to provide responses to the discussion in real-time.
