Program Description
Patients often may seek to self-treat skin irritations, and pharmacy technicians have an important role in identifying when the irritation may require more serious treatment. Pharmacy technicians should be familiar with multiple types of skin ailments, including eczema, bug bites, sunburns, and rashes, and be able to advise patients about measures to prevent initial irritations. This activity will review the most common skin ailments that patients may seek to self-treat and present ways pharmacy technicians can triage a patient’s skin issue with prompt referral to the pharmacist to prevent unnecessary complications.
