Program Description

The treatment paradigm of multiple myeloma (MM) has evolved to include multidrug combination therapies in both patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed/refractory disease. Due to the complexity of treating MM, it is important for pharmacists to be informed of guideline-recommended treatment strategies, as well as the supporting clinical data. Pharmacists must develop an understanding of optimal use of monoclonal antibodies for patients with either a new diagnosis or relapsed/refractory MM. This program will specifically focus on the appropriate place in therapy for monoclonal antibodies in patients with MM and will review strategies for managing potential adverse effects.

• Examine the risks and benefits demonstrated in recent clinical trials incorporating monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (MM)
• Identify the place in therapy for monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory MM
• Personalize treatment plans for patients with MM receiving combination strategies with monoclonal antibodies to maximize patient tolerance
