This activity was originally broadcast during the PTCE Diabetes Day of Education on May 21, 2024.
This activity includes a Powered by Patients™ interview.

Program Description
Many integrated continuous glucose monitoring (iCGM) devices now exist that improve the management of diabetes, with constant advancements in technology, including connectivity with insulin pumps, pens, and mobile applications. Continuous ketone monitoring (CKM) devices can be used in addition to CGM devices in the management of diabetes and prevention of diabetic ketoacidosis. Even though insurance coverage of CGM has improved, many people living with diabetes who may benefit from these technologies have not obtained them. Education from this session will allow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to better identify optimal candidates for these devices and assist people living with diabetes using or considering these technologies through training and recommendations. This session will elaborate upon the important role of iCGM, with a focus on connected devices and CKM in the management of diabetes, as well as considerations for people living with diabetes who may benefit from both devices. As part of PTCE’s Diabetes Day of Education, this panel discussion, which includes a Powered by Patients™ interview, will delve into people living with diabetes who will benefit from iCGM and CKM devices and available standards or data surrounding these devices.
