Program Description

In 2024, several innovative specialty medications have been approved, each with unique clinical indications and therapeutic potential. Pharmacists, as integral members of the health care team, must stay informed about these new approvals to provide optimal patient care. This activity will review select new specialty medications approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration in 2024. Understanding the indications along with key characteristics of these medications, including their dosing regimens, administration methods, and safety profiles, is crucial for pharmacists to recommend appropriate therapies and ensure patients receive the most effective treatments. Through this activity, pharmacists will gain valuable insights into the latest advancements in select recently approved specialty drugs, enhancing their ability to contribute to patient care and improve health outcomes.
