This module will provide an overview of the recent 2024 updates in the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) guidelines for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccines in older adults, as well as a detailed exploration of available RSV vaccines. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the latest recommendations regarding the use of RSV vaccines in older adults, including eligibility criteria, dosing schedules, and safety considerations. Additionally, the module will delve into the characteristics, efficacy, and administration of various RSV vaccines currently available, enabling health care providers to make informed decisions about patient care. By staying updated on these developments, pharmacists can optimize the prevention and management of RSV-related illness in older adults.
