Helping Customers Navigate Cat and Dog Products in the Pharmacy (Pharmacist Credit)

Program Description

Dogs and cats both require routine veterinary care, but some conditions may require medications. A number of these medications used in veterinary medicine are the same as those used in humans, and pharmacists and pharmacy technicians may frequently encounter customers seeking information about products found in the pharmacy that may be used to treat their animals. It is important that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians know the difference between over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription products as well as whether certain products may be contraindicated for cats or dogs. This webinar will review medications found in the community pharmacy that are safe for pets as well as ingredients in common OTC products that may be poisonous or harmful to animals.
