Foundations in the Management of Eosinophilic Esophagitis: Pathophysiology, Clinical, Economic, and Quality of Life Burden

Program Description

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the esophagus. Its rising prevalence creates a growing burden on patients and health care systems. If untreated, EoE can progress to greater gastrointestinal complications, with negative impacts on the quality of life for patients and their caregivers. This webinar provides pharmacists with foundational information for managing therapies for patients with EoE. Participants will delve into the pathophysiology of EoE to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms that contribute to the clinical presentation and diagnostic criteria. Expert faculty will review the economic burden and the role of emerging and recently approved therapies in treatment plans. Strategies for comprehensive patient education and communication will be emphasized throughout the discussion.
