Program Description

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology offers unique advantages for people living with diabetes. CGM data helps identify real-time trends and patterns, allowing for more informed decisions about lifestyle and medication management. Having a foundational understanding of CGM technology, its operating principles, and available types of sensors and transmitters is imperative for pharmacists involved in diabetes care plans for patients who are considering or using CGM devices. Communication techniques to address patient concerns and optimize CGM use will also be discussed. By fostering better understanding of the benefits of CGM and facilitating CGM adoption, pharmacists can significantly contribute to optimizing blood glucose management for a wider range of patients.
