Expanding Access to Antibody-Based Regimens in Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma

Program Description

Oncology pharmacists play a unique role within the multidisciplinary team for patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). Novel approaches, such as bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), have emerged as effective treatment options for relapsed/refractory disease for patients who are ineligible for chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy. However, as many of these treatments target the same antigen, guidance on how to best sequence these is still emerging. Toxicity monitoring and management are also significant barriers to administering these therapies, and represent opportunities for oncology pharmacists to promptly intervene. This session will examine patient-centered decisions regarding the integration of novel BsAb and ADC therapies into clinical practice, with a focus on toxicity management. Included patient case scenarios will draw from real-world operational and administrative challenges to review sequencing of antibody-based therapies in RRMM and protocols to mitigate toxicity risk.

• Explore operational protocols and safety measures for the effective implementation of antibody-based therapies in RRMM patients within community health care environments
