Program Description
The primary treatment goal for people living with diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the prevention of disease progression. Emerging data from recent clinical trials have established new strategies to treat diabetes and CKD that pharmacists must be aware of to reduce the residual risk of progression to end-stage kidney disease and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Pharmacists on the multidisciplinary care team must understand the nuances of current therapies. The discussion will include strategies for the concomitant use of available therapies and the potential place in the treatment paradigm for new and emerging agents, including non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists. This webinar will equip pharmacists with guideline recommendations and safety and efficacy data for new and emerging agents to make informed interventions for people living with diabetes and CKD.
