Program Description
The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and targeted therapies in the treatment of melanoma has greatly impacted patient outcomes. Specifically, therapies targeting PD-1, PD-L1, BRAF, and MEK have demonstrated efficacy in this patient population. Pharmacists require knowledge on the evolving treatment paradigm of cutaneous melanoma, and they are well-positioned to share insight with therapy selection and adverse effect mitigation and management. This program will review the clinical data and guideline recommendations supporting use of ICIs and targeted therapies in this patient population and will emphasize strategies for pharmacist involvement in patient care.
