The combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and targeted therapy has shown improved patient outcomes, transforming the treatment landscape for many malignancies. Pharmacist awareness of clinical data and updates to national practice guidelines are essential, as pharmacists play a key role in caring for patients receiving these therapies. Specifically, pharmacists may be involved with assisting with therapy selection, education for patients and the healthcare team, and also management of adverse effects. This podcast will review the rationale for using ICIs and targeted therapies, and will emphasize clinical trial data supporting use.
