Program Description
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is often underdiagnosed and discovered late in the disease's progression, leading to inadequate treatment. Despite COPD being underdiagnosed globally, pharmacists can significantly improve patient outcomes, lower health care costs, and reduce the burden of COPD through early disease identification and timely therapeutic interventions. Pharmacists can improve COPD management through counseling on medication adherence, optimizing medicine delivery, and providing patient-focused treatment. This webinar will review therapies for COPD treatment and guideline-based strategies to ensure personalized management, considering factors such as comorbidities, polypharmacy, and adverse effects. Multidisciplinary strategies to support shared decision-making and adherence to prescribed treatments will be emphasized.
