Directions in Pharmacy® 2024: Northeast

Overview

This full-day educational meeting will provide live practical education to pharmacists in the community, health-systems, and ambulatory practice settings. Sessions will provide the most relevant information on AI and advancements in health care, clinical data for current and emerging therapies, immunization updates, and best practices for patient care for a wide variety of disease states. 

As the most accessible and trusted health care professionals, pharmacists are valuable in serving their communities. It is crucial to remain up to date on developments in health care. For more than a decade, the Directions in Pharmacy® conference has been providing pharmacists with key treatment and disease-state management updates delivered by experts in the field. The conference offers interactive sessions and is focused on providing practical information that pharmacists can employ to provide outstanding care to their patients. Topics for this year’s program will include cardiovascular management, allergic conjunctivitis, and immunizations, among others.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational conference, pharmacists will be able to:

  • Identify strategies to foster the adoption of AI and health advancements within the practice of pharmacy to improve patient care
  • Examine the burden of chronic diseases and the evolving landscape of their management, including a review of efficacy and safety of new and emerging therapies
  • Analyze current guidelines for management of chronic diseases and updated vaccination recommendations
  • Identify the role of pharmacists in educating the health care team and patients, managing adverse effects, improving patient adherence, and coordinating care to improve patient outcomes
