Many people avoid having conversations with their supervisors or direct employees about behaviors or actions in the workplace that concern them. But avoiding these conversations can cause medical errors, job dissatisfaction, and poor patient outcomes. Your hosts in this Pharmacist Moms video discussion will explore common reasons for avoiding difficult conversations, including thoughts of negative consequences of the conversation, fear of confrontation or retaliation, lack of skill having the conversation, lack of time, belief that its “not their job”, and lack of confidence that the conversation will do any good. Pharmacist moms can benefit from practical strategies to manage challenging conversations to improve patient safety and outcomes.
